Roku Channel Setup

Install the RokuChannel Education app on your Roku device and pair it with your student account to access video content directly on your TV.

Installing the Channel

Follow these steps to install the RokuChannel Education app on your Roku device:

  1. Open the Roku Channel Store

    From your Roku home screen, scroll down to "Streaming Channels" and select "Search Channels".

  2. Search for "RokuChannel Education"

    Type the channel name using your remote. The channel appears with the education icon.

  3. Click "Add Channel"

    Confirm the installation. The channel downloads and appears on your home screen.

Sideloading for Development -- If the channel is not yet published, developers can sideload by enabling Developer Mode on the Roku device (Home 3x, Up 2x, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right) and uploading the .zip package.

Device Pairing Process

After installation, you need to pair your Roku device with your student account so it can load your enrolled courses and track your progress.

  1. Launch the Channel

    Open "RokuChannel Education" from your Roku home screen. A splash screen appears while the app loads.

  2. Note the Pairing Code

    The channel displays a 6-digit code on your TV screen along with a URL to visit.

  3. Enter the Code on the Website

    On your phone or computer, navigate to the pairing URL, sign in with your student account, and enter the 6-digit code.

  4. Device Paired

    The Roku app detects the pairing and loads your content. Your enrolled channels appear as series rows on the home screen.

Code Expiration -- Pairing codes expire after a few minutes. If the code expires, restart the channel to generate a new one.
